Live figure drawing has so many benefits for artists. I love it because it sharpens my observational skills, allows me to quickly explore new techniques and media, and it gets me into a flow state. It can be exhausting both physically and mentally, but it’s so rewarding!

These sketches were made in 2025 and represent a range of timed poses, from 1 minute to 20 minutes. Some are quirky and charming, others more complete with a certain mood. They were made on 18x24 drawing paper with a variety of media including graphite, charcoal, conte, soft pastel, crayon and marker.
